Energy Efficient Solar Passive House
Insulation
Create a highly efficient building envelope by wrapping the house in a blanket of insulation. Insulation allows minimising heat gain in summer and heat loss in winter.
Quality windows & doors
Windows and doors become a path for the house to expel energy, hot or cold. Window frames must be well insulated, with double glazing or low emissivity glass.
Air tightness
Air tightness is essential in allowing no draughts to pass air or, leaks to expel it. Having an air tight building will successfully retain the temperature, therefore requiring little energy to heat or cool.
Thermal Bridges
Thermal bridging defines locations in the building shell that conduct heat or cold more so than the rest of the structure. Eliminating thermal bridges means not compromising the performance or your insulation and allowing the house to maintain an average temperature throughout.
Heat recovery ventilation
Due to the air tightness of the building, it is necessary to have a fresh flow of air running throughout. A HRV system flushes stale air out to then replace it with a constant supply of fresh air that is temperature controlled and filtered.
